A recipe is knowledge
Owning or identifying a plant does not automatically teach you a recipe. Gather ingredients and learn recipes separately. You can consult ingredient sources at Livia’s workbench.
Brewing with a purpose
The workbench shows recipes, ingredients and a preview of the result. Ingredients are consumed only when brewing succeeds. Brewing has its own XP and levels, which improve the quality of the potions you make.
From lessons to research
Healing Draught uses 2 Bitterleaf and 1 Sunberries. Arcane Tonic uses 2 Silvermoss and 1 Sunberries. Further research opens Restorative Brew, Ironbark Draught, Arcane Fury and Elixir of Clarity as your brewing level increases.
Potion quality
Bought potions are level 1. Your own potions are produced at your brewing level. The effects on individual potion pages are base values; higher-quality brews can be more effective.
